Dr Rajeshwari Ghose is at present a senior retiree, living in Bangalore in a retirement
home.

She went to school in different parts of India but finally graduated with a B.A.Hons. degree from the University of Calcutta and was awarded a University Grants Commission scholarship for the best student of the year. Her peripatetic life led to her getting an M.Phil from the University of Hongkong and a PhD from the London School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London.

She taught for a while Asian History and English for High School students. Then was
appointed as a Lecturer in Asian studies at the Hongkong Polytechnic University, which
had recently acquired a degree status from U.K.
She then worked as a lecturer in the Curtin University Perth, Australia and then as
Associate Professor in University of Hongkong and post retirement a Senior Research
Fellow in Toronto University, Canada.
Teaching eager primary school children who come from under privileged backgrounds,
in many cases from migrant families, is a very rewarding but comparatively new
experience for her . She has mentored a few children through NGOs and some of
them have done very well both professionally and emotionally.

She sincerely hopes her efforts will contribute in small measure to boost the self
confidence of the students and cultivate their love for knowledge and enhance their
communication skills.
